We are hiring for a Front of House Manager - this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious person to manage and grow the front of house events space at our East London Distillery.
58 and CO is an independent, ethical distillery in East London producing gin, vodka and a wide range of spirits. Our Haggerston home is not only a working distillery and production site, but we have a stunning Front of House space where we run public and private events & experiences.
As Front of House & Experiences Manager, you will take full ownership of this space - running our Gin School, Cocktail Making and Tasting experiences, hosting private and corporate events and managing all customer communication. You will be an ambassador for the brand - sharing our story, finding exciting and innovative ways to showcase our products, training bar and restaurant staff for our on-trade customers and more. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to make an impact with a growing brand and take full ownership of a venue. 
You must have:
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in hospitality, with a minimum of 1 year in a managerial role.
  • A desire to take ownership of a venue, make a real impact and grow a brand.
  • Confidence and charisma to host events, experiences and present to groups.
  • A love for the drinks & hospitality industry and a genuine interest in distillation and spirits.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to pivot and prioritise in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience managing bookings, customer enquiries and end-to-end planning and executing events.
  • The ability to self-manage and self-motivate, working independently within a small team.
  • Excellent written English and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent IT skills - using emails, online booking systems, reporting systems etc.
  • Operational knowledge of running a bar/venue space - ordering, stock management, health & safety, compliance, food safety.
  • Experience in reporting - ensuring sales, margin and growth targets are met.
  • A passion for sustainability - as a B Corp certified business, you will be responsible for maintaining this status.

Non essential but beneficial skills would be:

  • Experience with Google Suite, Shopify, Zettle, Xero, DesignMyNight / Collins / Tonic, monday.com
  • Minimum of Level 2 WSET qualifications, with the ability to teach (we are a WSET teaching venue)
  • Experience creating innovative cocktail and drinks recipes that will showcase our products.
  • Experience as a spirits educator, presenting tastings and teaching.
  • Experience managing a retail space.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Bar Manager or someone in the hospitality industry looking for a new challenge within the same field but in a new and unique environment. We are a small and close-knit team - the ideal candidate will bring their own unique flair and share our vision to grow and elevate the brand. 

This is a full-time role based on-site, typically working Tuesday - Saturday with flexible hours due to the nature of the business. Competitive salary dependent on experience.
